The Earth

“impressionism”…an artistic style originated in France during the 1860’s that seeks to capture a feeling or experience rather than to achieve an accurate depiction.
Each of us has our own personal definition of what art is… It is a very powerful experience when a piece of work engages a sense of pleasure within our soul. This is what art is supposed to do. This is what I seek to do.

My work is for sale. My art displays are large, unique, bold statement pieces. They bring a wall/room to life. In my home, as the darkness of evening arrives my pieces further show their magic, using picture lighting, which brings my work even more alive.

Proceeds from the sale of my work will benefit Ovarian Cancer Research and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

…finishing North

In January 2024 we had the opportunity to acquire the opposite side of the duplex, that in 2018, we purchased the north side. We decided to combine the units, move to Leelanau, and make North into our primary residence.

In January we began the renovation of the south side. We renovated the north side in 2018. The building was constructed in the late 1960’s. Both sides were built identical. The lower levels were bedrooms/baths. The upper levels… great rooms/kitchens/bathrooms.

Our goal was to make the upper level our living quarters and the lower, our offices/studios/guest quarters.

Tuesday, we have the rough plumbing inspection. By the end of the week, the framing should be completed. This side was heated by electric baseboard. We begin the install of a natural gas heating system mid week.

…how it makes me feel.

My country is in battle with a force, within its rule… our Constitution.

It took 17 months from elected Chancellor (01.1933), that Hitler declared himself Fuehrer of Germany (08.1934).

Daily, I embrace the sounds and sights of nature… all that still is free. I now question mine.

Save the Date … SASC Sweaters update

“Huggee” coziness, contentment…

Since my debut in 2023, I have diligently focused on creating my new, SASC, “Huggee” Sweater Collection for 2025. My biggest discovery… a new yarn. It is primarily made of bamboo, therefore sustainable. The fiber allows the sweater to breathe. The material… very soft against my skin. It is also machine washable. Most of all … it is anti-pilling. Yes… anti-pilling.


I am adding boot “Huggee’s” to my collection this year, and of course, my neck “Huggee’s will be back.

So… save the date October 2025. I will present my new season of sweaters.

My latest sweater with complementing boot huggee’s. I just bought a new pair of cowgirl boots and they not only keep the cold air from entering my boots… they are super cute too.

Walk with me… 02 01 2025 Piliated Woodpecker

I captured a female pileated woodpecker pecking away not far from my deck. We live at the base of Sugar Loaf Mountain. Turn up your volume and you will hear her echo run through the valley, as she chats, while seeking her dinner.
