This is a winter scene. Ice greets the open water where the suns’ setting glow replicates the sun above. We had recently experienced a huge winter storm of wet snow creating damage that can be seen to this mammoth willow tree’s body.

…seeing what cannot be seen… Out in the forefront beyond the snow covered dunes is Lake Michigan… This was a beautiful day hiking Sleep Bear Point trail. We saw our first snowy owl.
